HIPAA notice & acknowledgment
How we protect your family's health information.
Important note
Ausome Care is a personal organizational tool, not a covered entity under HIPAA. We follow HIPAA-aligned safeguards to protect your information, but the app is not intended for use by healthcare providers as a system of record.
What information we handle
You may choose to enter sensitive information such as your child's diagnoses, medications, therapy notes, and medical documents. This is called Protected Health Information (PHI). You control what you enter.
How we protect it
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Access controls — only you can see your family's data
- Audit logs for administrative access
- No selling of your data — ever, to anyone, for any purpose
- AI features process your questions to generate responses, and are not used to train third-party models
How we use your information
We use your information solely to provide the app: showing your dashboard, sending in-app reminders, generating AI responses to your questions, and enabling features you turn on (like the shareable emergency profile).
Sharing
We never share your child's health information with advertisers or data brokers. Information is only shared when you actively share it (for example, by sending your emergency profile), or when required by law.
Your rights
- Access and download your data at any time
- Correct or update information you've entered
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Request a copy of our data handling practices
Breach notification
In the unlikely event of a breach affecting your PHI, we will notify you within 60 days and describe what happened and what steps to take.
